Privacy Policy

What we collect

Browsing this website does not require an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information from you simply by browsing the site.

We collect information only in the following narrow cases:

• Aggregate site analytics. We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how pages perform and which routes are viewed. Both are cookieless and do not track individual visitors across sites. No personal identifiers are stored.
• Error reporting. We use Sentry to capture technical errors so we can fix them. Our Sentry configuration strips email addresses, IP addresses, and sensitive query parameters before events are transmitted. Error reports are retained by Sentry for a limited period and used only to diagnose and repair issues.
• Donations. When you donate, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Any information you enter there — name, billing address, payment details, email for receipt — is collected and processed by Stripe under Stripe’s privacy policy. Vital Warrior receives a record of the donation (amount, date, donor name and email for acknowledgment and tax receipts) but never receives or stores your payment card information.
• Veteran accounts. If you ask for access to the veteran platform, we collect your email address, a record of the verification decision, and the correspondence you send us to establish your service. See Veteran accounts and verification below for exactly what is stored and what is not.
• Email correspondence. If you email us at info@vitalwarrior.org, we retain that correspondence to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Cookies

We do not set tracking cookies on this website. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless. Stripe and other third-party services linked from the site set their own cookies when you visit them; those cookies are governed by those services’ policies.

Third parties we rely on

Vital Warrior does not sell or rent your information to anyone. We use a small set of service providers to operate the site:

• Vercel — hosts this website and provides performance analytics.
• Stripe — processes donations. Stripe’s privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
• Sentry — receives scrubbed error reports used only to diagnose and repair site issues.
• Supabase — hosts the database that stores the veteran account records described above. Used from the moment you request access — your email address and a one-way hash of the access link are recorded there before any account exists.
• Resend — delivers the one-time access-link emails. Used only if you request access.

Donor records and tax acknowledgments

As a 501(c)(3) organization, we retain records of donations for as long as required by U.S. tax law, and we issue written acknowledgments for gifts of $250 or more in accordance with IRS requirements. Donor records are stored within Stripe and accessed only by authorized Vital Warrior personnel for the purposes of record-keeping, tax acknowledgment, and donor communication about the gift itself.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your choices

We do not maintain profiles of visitors who simply browse the site, so for most people there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. If you hold a veteran account, would like a copy of your donation record, would like your contact information corrected, or have any other privacy-related request, email us at info@vitalwarrior.org and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Veteran accounts and verification

Vital Warrior is building a digital platform that provides veterans with free access to guided practice, breathwork, and meditation content, funded by civilian subscriptions. Browsing this website still requires no account. An account is created only if you request access to that platform and give us your email address.

When you make that request, we record your email address and a one-way hash of a one-time access link — before any account exists. The link itself is never stored: it exists only in the email we send you, it can be used once, and it expires. If you use it, we create your account and store a session, again as a one-way hash. Those hashes cannot be turned back into a usable link or session — someone reading our database could not use them to reach your account.

Veteran status is verified by a person, not by a third-party identity service. We ask you to email us from the address you signed in with and tell us your branch and years of service, in a few plain sentences. That message reaches an ordinary Vital Warrior mailbox and is retained there as correspondence — the branch and service details you write are not entered into the website’s database. What the database records is the decision itself: the outcome, who reviewed it, and when. We do not use a third-party identity verification provider.

Please do not send us identity documents. We do not ask for DD-214s, discharge papers, or scans of any kind, there is nowhere on this website to upload one, and none is ever entered into our database. If you have already emailed us one, tell us and we will delete that copy from the mailbox.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@vitalwarrior.org. Deletion removes your email address and name, purges any outstanding access links, revokes your live sessions, and unlinks the verification record from you. What remains is anonymous: an account row carrying only status and timestamps with no identifying details, the revoked session hashes, and the verification decision with the link to you removed. That keeps our own audit trail honest without keeping you in it. Your correspondence in our mailbox is separate — tell us if you want that deleted too.

Civilian subscriptions are not yet open. This policy will be updated before any subscription billing begins.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site and our services evolve. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
